The most frequently asked question is: "Is it safe?" The answer I usually give is "It's safer than New Zealand." Tanzania in general is so relaxed and peaceful. Politically it is super stable and there is no ethnic tension. In Mikindani your biggest health risk is getting stung by mosquitos (malaria). There are no lions or other dangerous wild animals around. Crime in Mikindani is virtually unheard of. Anyway, there is always a watchman on duty at our house at night and a gardener around in the day if you need assistance.
While there are no dangerous animal around the house there is a wealth of harmless fauna and flora eg this Orange Back lizard.
